The Devourer of Worlds VS the Healer of Worlds
The Guardian encounters a dying world and learns that it is mysteriously connected to another in a different universe.
He leaves the confines of his own universe and finds the devourer of worlds, Galactus, feeding on the planet connected to the Guardian’s universe.
The Guardian tries to reason with Galactus and orders him to release the world, but Galactus is not accustomed to answering to anyone. Annoyed with the Guardian, he sends his herald, the Silver Surfer, after him, but the Guardian’s power is no match for him.
Galactus takes matter into his own hands and battles the Guardian. The universe shakes from the battle but neither can match the other until the Guardian says; “I have fought your herald, Devourer of Worlds, but you have just fought my master’s. Let’s see how you fare against him.”
Galactus feels uncertainty as he realizes that if the Guardian is the herald, then how much more powerful must be its master.
The Guardian summons Avatar Prime and the two become one. With the Guardian at its peak strength, Galactus is taken down, but no matter how much the Guardian tries, the devourer of worlds cannot be destroyed. The Guardian understands that Galactus’s presence is vital to this universe. As a healer of worlds, he refuses to continue the battle for fear of destroying innocent worlds.
He warns Galactus that this particular world must be spared for eternity and that if he ever attacks any other world connected to his own, the Guardian will return. Galactus refuses to concede defeat and drains the planet’s life force to reenergize himself.
In response, the Guardian shatters Galactus’s armour and spreads his energy across time and space.
With Galactus gone, the Guardian returns the life force to the planet.
The Guardian knows that Galactus will eventually return but for the time being, the universe is safe.
The Guardian returns to his own universe.
